Port Ellen Distillery

Editorial story on the revival of the Port Ellen whisky distillery on Isla, off the west coast of Scotland.  Originally closed down in 1980, the ‘ghost’ whiskies that continued to mature evolved to become legendary malts, so in 2024 the distillery was refurbished to a spectacular standard and brought back into operation by Diageo.
